Island hopping
The houseboat moors on different islands in the Okavango each night. This flat wetland has more than 150,000 islands. Some are just a few metres wide while the larger islands can be longer than 10 kilometres. Guided walks are on offer on some of the larger islands and you will also get to explore the backwaters and lagoons in tender boats. Night viewing on the river brings opportunities to spot some of the many nocturnal bird species that one doesn’t usually get to see, such as the rare Pel's Fishing Owl. |
Firstly, WOW, WOW WOW!!!!
There are no words to describe the beauty of the Okavango. What an incredible river safari we had in this most remote part of the world. Tiger fishing, game viewing and birding paradise! Staying aboard the legendary Kubu Queen Houseboat and even on our river camping safaris, over the years our return trips with you guys have always been fantastic! I would not go anywhere else to experience the beauty of the Okavango Delta, we will be back for sure!
